18:05 "Quick introduction to Rust language" - Bartłomiej Kuras
Very brief introduction to Rust language. I will condense all basic knowledge which is needed to understand most of sample Rust code, and give you solid base for future exploration of this beautiful language. I will not go into any advanced topics, but rather go through Rust specific syntax to give you brief understanding and reduce the "WTF/min" factor for the rest of meetup. Basic programming knowledge of any other language may be assumed (eg. don't expect me, to explain and idea of variable or function, but I don't expect you to know C++ polymorphism implementation details).
Language: Polish or English if necessary
18:45 "My 3 years with Rust" - Tomasz Drwięga
As the ecosystem has changed, things I like and which still need some love.
Tomasz Drwięga - he started writing in Rust by accident 3 years ago, when a friend invited him to join a blockchain startup.
"But I can't write in Rust!" - he said - "Don't worry, we're also just starting."
And so he jumped from being a Frontend Developer to being a Core Rust Developer at Parity Technologies https://www.parity.io/, where I develop blockchain clients (Ethereum, Polkadot).
19:30 Quick break
19:45 "Building custom CLI app by example" ~ Łukasz Biel
I'll present one of my crates as a working example of possibilities rust gives us as developers when developing applications. We'll review good practices, useful tools and error handling when building one and then proceed to short live coding session.
