What we're about

Has someone you love taken their own life? Have you contemplated taking your own life? If you are any type of survivor, this Tribe is for you. S.U.N. T.R.I.B.E. = Survivors Uniting Now, Together Repairing Individual's Broken Emotions. We, are a Tribe that welcomes and supports anyone who has suffered from Suicide. Whether it be a loss of a loved one, or because you've wanted to do it yourself, you are welcome, you are family. "Suicide, for me, just the word has a stigma that makes me feel I need a shower after saying it! Living it--has been more than just needing a shower."

Suicide haunts me daily; what I have found, I mustn’t face it alone. Group support is required in order for the pieces of my broken emotions to be put back together. Maybe you feel the same? Give us a TRIBE! See when support helps you too! You won’t know until you TRIBE (lol).

Looking forward to sharing story with you.

Survivors of Suicide Uniting Now - Become a Part of SUN TRIBE

We are a new group here in Hawaii. But not new, exactly... ...First, If you are reading this, you are probably being called to become a part of the TRIBE (by-the-way, the TRIBE is Free). Our hope is that you will also bring a guest with you. My name is Kim, and I am a survivor of suicide, in many fashions, I will share more when we meet and talk story. We will be meeting outside in Kailua Park in one of the undercover areas, close to the restrooms, please bring something to sit on (a chair, yoga mat, towel, etc.), something to write on, something to write with, tissue for tears, and maybe a sweater. Our agenda is always casual, yet organized. SUN TRIBE became a 'legal' non-profit in September 2018, originally we wanted to be a large organization that provided educational tool/resource for people attempting suicide, in deep depression, and/or in darkness they couldn't seem to shake. NOW, we are a part of the club we were trying to avoid! My family has struggled with the issues I stated above for many years. Because of this, we always felt it was our mission to help others, to share our stories, let others know they weren't alone, AND, we hoped to save lives! Unfortunately, one of our own took his own life, December 5th, 2018. Now, is the time, more than ever to build strength in numbers. We are survivors and it stinks, but together we can make it less yucky. When we meet we will be sharing our stories, getting to know one another, building a foundation, creating a family of survivors. Each of you will be get, "survival skills" during a powerful exercise of connecting with self in the positive, etc. We will be doing some writing. You will understand that the consistent tape of, "shoulda, coulda, woulda" will go on for a lifetime, but you'll learn how to pause it for longer periods of time. Lastly, I will give each of you an assignment to take home (you will like it!). Looking forward to meeting all who arrive.
