Welcome to the first edition of the SAFE Network: Brighton Meetup!

It's been a huge year for the SAFE Network with highlights including the release of the PARSEC consensus algorithm, the first ever European DevCon and the journey towards SAFE-Fleming becoming ever closer! We're looking forward to celebrate such a great year with our first ever meetup in Brighton. We are looking forward to meeting up with as many local SAFE Network fans as possible for an informal evening of discussion and socialising.

We welcome MaidSafe long-time enthusiasts as well as beginners. So don't feel like you have to be an expert to join us! if you are completely new to MaidSafe and just want to know what is all about, come along anyway. There will be plenty of time for discussion and informal questions before and after the talk.

However, to start the meetup group off with a bang, Safe Network fans will be happy to know that we will have a very special guest speaker: MaidSafe's very own Nikita Baksalyar.

Topic: 'What is Crust - and why does it Matter?'
Speaker: Nikita Baksalyar (Senior Rust Developer, MaidSafe)

Crust ('Connections in Rust') is an open-source networking library that forms the foundation of the SAFE Network. In other words, it's the way in which different nodes across the Network speak to each other in a peer-to-peer, decentralised way. In this talk, Nikita will explain what Crust is used for, why it's special and dive into a few of the findings from the recent Crust Test that saw people become involved all over the world.
