MediaWiki with Stevo

Our presenter is our long-standing member Stevo (a.k.a. Craig Stephenson) who will be giving an installation and plugins overview of MediaWiki. This is the software that runs Wikipedia, and is quite widely used in small-to-medium sized enterprises for internal documentation.

Sysadmins who haven't set up wiki software before are the target audience, and Stevo will be giving a demonstration on how easy it is to download & install the base software and to add plugins.

(If there is time, Alastair Irvine will talk about the web-facing side of MediaWiki use and administration, covering namespaces, categories and users.)

Stevo has been working in IT since the mid '90s in many industries, including but no limited to Mining, Education & Health. In that time he has worked as both a Unix Admin and a Windows Admin. He currently works for a private Healthcare company looking after the Linux Servers for approximately 30 sites including 18 Hospitals.

For those who are driving, Murray Street is now two-way, and conveniently accessible from the CBD, the freeway and West Perth. Parking is available from one of several City of Perth carparks located along Murray Street, as well as in bays on Murray Street itself.
