What we're about

WELCOME TO OUR CLUB

We provide writers four basic needs:

FELLOWSHIP - Hang around other authors and writers who love to write.

OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE - You may choose what you would like to write or select one of our subjects for a 1000 word practice exercise.

AVAILABILITY OF CRITIQUE - You will have the opportunity to receive critical analysis of your work - if you wish.

NEW LEARNING EXPERIENCE - We will have four major learning experiences each year with several smaller presentations during our meetings.

Why join us? We love writing and we want to write well. If this is your goal, we can help.

San Antonio Writer's Meetup Group --Limited Seating

La Madeline - Blanco and Loop 410

What we're about Why Join Us? We’re a diverse group: Young, old, working, retired, Anglo, Latino, African-American, executives and truck drivers, housewives, engineers, physicians, salesmen, machinists, nurses and from all walks of life. We are aspiring writers, published authors, biographers, poets, would-be novelists and more. Bring your poem, short story, novel, screen play or excerpt from your current or past work—as long as it's only about 1500 words (4 pages single space or 5 pages double space). Fiction and non-fiction are part of our diversity. First time visitors are invited to observe and critique and can become a member and present their work on the second visit. A $2.00 fee per member (for Meetup administration) at each meeting is currently assessed. First timers are not charged. Critiques point out what is outstanding about the writing and what could make it more outstanding. Our meetings bring workable suggestions for all writers . Get help with character development, scenario, plots, subplots, punctuation, grammar and more. Copies of your writing will get helpful line by line edits from the group. We require enough copies to cover our average attendance which is currently 12. Maximum membership is limited to 20. Start writing and come sit in. You’ll soon be one of our regular members! Arrive at 2:00 PM to order refreshments. The meeting starts promptly at 2:30 and ends at 4:30 Peter Glassman
