SB TechEx #9 Diversity in London - Being gay in QA
Details
Join Simply Business Tech as we team up with Diversity in London as we dive into some real life experiences being gay in within tech.
James Brumpton, our Senior Test Engineer at SB Tech will be discussing his experience working as the first openly gay QA within a very straight & male dominated industry at Rockstar Games - the video games industry. Rockstar Games are responsible for creating and publishing some of the most popular and critically-acclaimed games in the world including franchises such as Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne & Red Dead!
James is an ISTQB certified tester and has over eight years of experience within the industry. He has worked for several leading tech companies including the BBC, Rockstar Games, On the Beach and Simply Business.
He'll talk about how he began the conversation with the company to make the working environment more inclusive. James will also suggest ways that companies can make their LGBTQ+ colleagues feel supported but also give them and their allies a way to make their voices heard. Plus, there's some audience participation! And who doesn't love that?
Please join us for this event as we get an insight to some of James' experiences and we hope that this talk can provide advice and support for people who are experiencing similar situations.
