Come be a part of my bi-weekly game night! If you have something that you would like to play, bring it along with you! Bringing food and drink to share is optional and highly appreciated. I occasionally make popcorn or have some kind of light snack. If you are of age, you may bring alcohol to share. All I ask, if you plan on consuming alcohol, is not to overdo it. Last thing. Please RSVP only if you plan on attending. If for any reason, you are no longer able to come or if you think you might not be able to make it, please do not forget to change your RSVP to give someone else on the waitlist a chance to come!
It's January so I bet you've already guessed what we'll be celebrating this month! That's right! Australia Day! 🇦🇺🐨🍺🦐🏄🏼♂️ In honor of the Aboriginal First Nations and the diverse country it has become over the last 250 years... let us play some bord games! 😄 We will have three gaming tables set up and provide some basic drinks and snacks. We have a pretty wide selection of games for everyone from board game beginners to experienced players. What We Need From You: RSVP... Show up... Say Hello... Play some games! Completely Optional: Bring your preferred snacks or drinks to share or games to teach and play. Feel free to message me if you want to see if we already have a particular game that you'd like to play. Most of our collection is listed at BoardGameGeek ( https://www.boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/seanmwest?own=1&objecttype=thing&ff=1&subtype=boardgame ). We open the doors at 2pm and will start our first round of games about 2:30pm. I suggest getting here then for maximum gaming time! And not getting stuck waiting for a new game to start. There is no official end time. We will keep going until everyone is ready to call it a night. That's usually around 9pm. There is no obligation to stay the whole time. You are welcome to drop in late and/or leave early. Just leave a comment or a private message so we know when to expect you or whether to wait for you. We will send a confirmation email via Meetup the day before the event to those who have RSVP'd with any last minute updates. Please confirm that you can receive emails via Meetup and that they don't go to your spam. We should let you know that we have a small dog. She is friendly and quiet but she does shed quite a bit so please consider whether that may be an issue for you before you RSVP. One last request: Please only RSVP if you are confident you'll be coming or change your RSVP if you respond but then your plans change. Since we have limited space, we have limited the RSVPs to a level that will ensure we have room for everyone who responds but some people may miss out if you reserve a spot you don't use.
This Meetup is a small group evening of 4 to 8 gaymers in the College Area that meets one Wednesday a month. (Alternate Wednesdays are hosted by Lance in Hillcrest. Check the schedule for those details.) If we don't have at least four solid RSVPs by Noon on the day of the event, the event will be cancelled for that day. Anyone who did RSVP will get an email to let them know. We have a wide selection of games and usually have something to drink and snack on. Feel free to bring snacks, drinks, or games of your own too! Please only RSVP if you are confident you'll be coming or change your RSVP if you respond but then your plans change. Since we have limited space, I have limited the RSVPs to a level that will ensure we have room for everyone who responds but some people may miss out if you reserve a spot you don't use. Plus, it is a severe disappointment for the people who made effort to be here if say you are coming but don't show up. I should also let you know that we have a small dog. She is friendly and quiet but she does shed quite a bit so please consider whether that may be an issue for you before you RSVP.
NOTE: This is NOT a SD Board Gaymers group sponsored event but may be of interest to our members! This event is hosted by The Center SD and sponsored by Men @ The Center. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Join Men @ The Center and Hillcrest Social to enjoy another edition of Guys, Games & Grub at The Center! Dozens of men and friends gather at The Center on the first Wednesday of each month for GGG, which includes pizza, beer, wine, soft drinks, games, prizes, and more. We have hundreds of board games available to choose from, or bring your own! Also, check out the popular Live Trivia game, hosted this month by Walter Meyert! Walter will be filling in for regular host, John Lockhart who custom writes all of the questions. Everyone is welcome to drop in to the game. Live Trivia begins at 6:30 pm. A donation of $5 is suggested at the door to support men's programming at The San Diego LGBT Community Center. Food and drinks items are just $1 each.
