Jimbo's Store Tour

How many times have you gone to the grocery store and looked at all the different choices and then realized you don't know which one to choose? That happens to me quite often, especially in the produce department. Do you smell the cantaloupe or look for softness to gauge sweetness? Which tomatoes do you pick if you don't plan to use it right away? What's the difference between non-GMO vs. all natural? How about organic eggs vs. vegetarian eggs vs free-range? What's gluten free?

Jimbo's is a locally owned natural food grocer. They started out in North Park and now have four locations around the county. They get some of their products from local organic farmers and natural food vendors.

We will not only tour the Carmel Valley store (Del Mar Highland Town Center), but also learn about how to select produce/products, the benefit of organics, what some of the food industry terminology means, etc. Please come with lots and lots of questions. This is a great opportunity to ask all those questions you had, but either too embarrassed or couldn't find anyone to ask! There will be some food sampling, so make sure you answer the allergy question.

After the tour, if anyone is interested, we can grab a meal together. There are several restaurants in the Center or we can get something from Jimbo's Deli and sit out upstairs or by the fountains.
