Jimbo's Store Tour

How many times have you gone to the grocery store and looked at all the different choices and then realized you don't know which one to choose? That happens to me quite often, especially in the produce department. Do you smell the cantaloupe or look for softness to gauge sweetness? Which tomatoes do you pick if you don't plan to use it right away? What's the difference between non-GMO vs. all natural? How about organic eggs vs. vegetarian eggs vs free-range? What's gluten free?

Jimbo's is a locally owned natural food grocer. They started out in North Park and now have four locations around the county. They get some of their products from local organic farmers and natural food vendors.

We will not only tour the Carmel Valley store (Del Mar Highland Town Center), but also learn about how to select produce/products, the benefit of organics, what some of the food industry terminology means, etc. Please come with lots and lots of questions. This is a great opportunity to ask all those questions you had, but either too embarrassed or couldn't find anyone to ask! There will be some food sampling, so make sure you answer the allergy question.

After the tour, if anyone is interested, we can grab a meal together. There are several restaurants in the Center or we can get something from Jimbo's Deli and sit out upstairs or by the fountains.

Please call (858)[masked] or email me if you have any questions.

It was nice to get the history of Jimbos and learn more about products in their store. The goody bags were a great giveaway item. I did think the objectives of the tour were unclear. I picked up a few new things (info as well as items) from the tour and will feel more comfortable shopping there in the future as well as attending classes at the store.

Learned some really good information on how to look for non- genetically modified food when I'm shopping.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Jimbo's store tour. It was so informative and Jimbo's was so nice to provide us with goody bags. Urban Plates was also a great place to grab a healthy lunch.

Hi Everyone! The questionnaire notification isn't working so could you please email me if you have any food allergies? No need to email me if you do not have allergies. Click on my name/photo, then use the send email feature. Thanks!

Hi there! Thank you for arranging the fun(ny) farm goat-milking adventure in Encinitas, Melin! ;) We'll be on the East Coast for the next gathering, or we'd be happy to come. Enjoy the event. We look forward to attending a future event. :) ~ Felicia
