What we're about
The Southeastern PA region of the American Wine Society welcomes you!
Now in its 50th year, the American Wine Society is the largest consumer based wine education organization in North America. Membership is open to anyone interested in wine and over 21 years of age.
We have several chapters that meet regularly (mostly monthly, some weekly) throughout the Delaware Valley to learn about and enjoy wine. The American Wine Society has over 5,000 members in 45 states and 120 chapters across the U.S. We also sponsor joint regional events several times per year.
Our focus is first of all to have some grown-up fun, but also to increase your knowledge and taste for wine. The success of the group depends on participants at ALL levels of appreciation, including the complete novice (“I just know what I like”) to the well-versed enologist. We currently have many casual wine enthusiasts, as well as certified wine judges and winemakers. If you are looking to "just get drunk", please don't join us - we are serious about wine education.
Get more info on these websites (just to name a few):
What does it cost? The costs are really nominal for what you get. There is no initiation fee to join...
National dues are currently $62 per year, per couple or $49 for an individual. Payment of annual dues entitles members to participate in all chapter events and to receive all AWS publications.
We are non-profit and are not trying to sell you anything.
If you are interested in joining, please express your interest and we will hook you up with a chapter near you! Stay tuned to this meetup group for regional AWS events.
