Mt. Lassen camping and hiking: 3 days 3 nights

UPDATE: JULY 4. Fire season is coming early again this year. I've updated my map to show fires in our area. Nothing too bad yet, but we will likely smell smoke from distant fires. THE TRIP IS NOW FULL. Here are details on the waitlist and other options:

Waitlist: I doubt that many people will drop from the trip, but if someone does a person on the waitlist will move up. If you are going to drop, please contact someone on the waitlist to see if you can arrange money exchange with them, then let me know who is replacing whom.

Other options: Some folks are exploring staying outside the park. Most of the campgrounds within reasonable distance are all booked up. You can probably find a hotel/motel in Redding or somewhere similar. Redding is about a one-hour drive from the campground, so be prepared to get up early :-) If you stay outside the park, your cost for the event will be $15. I can handle up to 10 people who are staying not in the park. You are welcome to participate in all activities of the group, including campfires (just remember you will need to drive back!)

This trip is camping for Thurs-Sat nights, and hiking on Friday and Saturday (a bit on Sunday). All the details are on my blog site; I posted there because Meetup doesn't allow me to make all the layout features I want.

Group limit is 20, set by the size of the group campsite.

We will comply with all state and CDC COVID-19 restrictions during this event, especially when socializing around the camp. These restrictions are changing weekly, so you should be open to going along with whatever the restrictions are in July.

Cost is $30/person, including camping fees (but not park entrance fees of $30/car).

Meetup fee processing costs a lot, so I'm doing Venmo (@LeeTramp), Paypal (https://paypal.me/LeeTrampleasure), or other means to pay. If you list it as just giving money to a friend, there is no charge. If you don't have Venmo or Paypal, I'll contact those who RSVP with info about payment.

If the event fills up, I'll add a "add your name to the waitlist here" comment below. It looks like Meetup doesn't have waitlists for fee-based events.
