Beginner's Q&A, Deeper Look Into Hooks/Filters, Making Your Site Look Great

Details
We are planning on covering at least two topics PLUS an open Q&A on any beginner or related WordPress topic. We have an OPEN SLOT right now for someone if they want to talk about something related to WordPress - or just share with us what plugins or themes you've used in the last month.
Topic 1: We'll be talking about various tips that can help up be a better WordPress user and/or answering general questions.
Topic 2: Hooks: Actions & Filters - Learn how to use the hidden potential of existing PHP functions in WordPress Themes & Plugins. Basic PHP knowledge will be required to make use of hooks. If you don't know PHP or haven't worked with it, this is a great eye-opener why you should dabble around with it. Presented by Andreas Lopez.
Topic 3: Making your Wordpress website look great: a branding & design primer for non-designers. Presented by Naima Sheik. In this no-theory, all-practical presentation:
- Discover the basic building blocks of your visual brand
- Learn how to quickly put them together using online tools - no Photoshop or prior design skills required
- See how to apply them to your website
Room Numbers: We are NOT in Knight Auditorium this time. Room number is #1052. It's on the first floor of the same Carl DeSantis Building. Likely in the Southeastern corner of the floor. We will try to post signs, but sometimes these are taken down. :-/
Parking: This is your parking pass to park in lot AC10. This is NOT a pass for free parking in the parking garage next to Carl DeSantis building. The parking garage is closer, but it's $1 per hour.
