Laugh to Save Lives Comedy Show

Have fun while supporting our community.

Laugh for Lives is a comedy show benefiting Asian American Donor Program (AADP), a non-profit community organization geared towards helping save lives of patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood diseases. Ethnic minority individuals are desperately needed to register as a potential bone marrow/stem cell donor.

2013 line up includes comedians Monrok, Jimmy Ouyang, Kevin Shea and a special performance from MAZE Magic.
To purchase tickets:

Because finding a matching donor is often based on ethnicity, and because there are so few Asian American and Pacific Islander donors listed on the National Registry, many patients are not able to find a perfect matching donor. AADP’s goal is to register more ethnic minority donors and give patients a greater chance of finding a perfect match early on in their diagnosis. It costs $100 to add one (1) new donor onto the Registry. We need your help to continue our cause so no donor is asked to pay to join the registry.

The doors open at 6:30 pm. Arrive early and stop by and visit the all the Asian American non-profit organizations that are co-sponsoring the event.

Pre-sale tickets online are $25 and $35 at the door.

I will actually be at the table for 3rd i/San Francisco International South Asian Film Festival and CAAM (Center for Asian American Media) which will be next to the Meetup table. Please stop by to say "Hi" and find out about our upcoming film festivals and events. See you there!

Hi all. I spoke to some folks from AADP on Friday and they said that Maze Magic is fantastic and you should not miss his performance. He is also a cancer survivor and is passionate about supporting this cause to help others that going through the same thing that he went through. All the performers are donating their time to help raise awareness of the need to increase the number of potential donors from our Asian communities, since minority communities do not register for the "Be The Match" national registry at the same rates as Caucasians. Unfortunately, some patients pass away because their family members are not a match and there is not a large enough pool of potential Asian donors to provide a match to save their lives. I personally know someone that is an organizer from one of my other Meet up groups that was diagnosed with Leukemia last year. She is one of the lucky ones, because her brother was a match for her, but 75% of patients are not so fortunate.
