RATING: IntermediateNo beginners!

(roughly 7 miles roundtrip, 1,656 ft elevation gain)

MEETING TIME: 9:00 a.m.

We will be doing a car shuttle to Millard Canyon (Chaney Trail) where an Adventure Pass is required and be purchased from REI, Big Five or check link below (you only need a day pass).

MEETING PLACE: At the end of Lake Avenue where it meets Loma Alta Dr.

DESCRIPTION:
This hike is approximately 7 miles with 1,656 feet elevation gain is for well-conditioned hikers. Join us on this trip into a former era in the San Gabriels where we will witness the remnants of a resort (White City) and of the Mount Lowe Railway. For those interested, we may go to El Patron Mexican Food Restaurant for lunch at 2555 Lake Ave, Altadena, CA 91001 after the hike.

WHAT TO BRING:
A face mask if you will be carpooling, a minimum of two liters of water, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots or shoes with good traction, daypack, hiking poles/sticks, shorts and a T-shirt or long pants and long sleeved shirt, jacket depending on weather. Clothes should be loose fitting, and light-colors are preferable.

FOOTWEAR:
Hiking boots or shoes with good traction. Absolutely no sandals or open toed shoes.
