Sewing; crafting (remaking jewelry or decorative items out of scraps, buttons, and discarded jewelry); metal mechanical typewriters. Looking for fellowship of similarly creative / anachronistic types.
Babylon 5 The Wicked novels by Gregory McGuire (aguably steampunk in nature) "The Sparrow" and "Children of God" by Maria Doria Russel (novels about Jesuits involved in first contact space exploration in the future).
Meet others, especially those interested in costuming (I'm a sewer & crafter, but really don't know about how to put together a costume). Might want to attend some events. My husband loves the idea of Frankensteining old junk into shiny, repurposed items.
Carol told me about the Bazaar held earlier this fall. We went and subsequently met more folks at Montagues. Hope to meet more soon.
Kate here; husband and I came to your meeting at Montague's in October. Work as a health care professional, but enjoy a good escape from the day-to-day when available :-).
Group members are very supportive of one anothers' work. The group includes writers, graphic designers, fiber artists, and fine- and folk-craftspersons. A warm home for the creator (or creatrix).
