What we’re about
Let's Eat the World! While our prime focus will be Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley (from the 710 Freeway to the West, the 60 Freeway to the South, 210 Freeway to the North, and the 57 Freeway to the East), we will venture all over the LA and OC counties as well as parts beyond. We will also explore global cuisines from Japanese to Sri Lankan to Nigerian to French and more.
Be prepared to share the dishes family-style, as most events will be designated as family-style dining. However, there will be occasions where each individual will order their entree/main dish. Be sure to bring cash, as many hole-in-the-wall places do not accept credit cards.
REMEMBER, FOR EVERY EVENT YOU SIGN UP PLEASE FOLLOW THESE RULES:
1. If you need to cancel your RSVP, please do so 48 hours before the start time of the event.
2. New members of the group who No-Show at their first event will be banned from the group.
3. If you are on the Wait List, then it is YOUR responsibility to monitor your status on the Wait List and update your RSVP accordingly. If you didn't get an email or notification from the MeetUp app about being moved from the Wait List to the Going List, then you need to modify your account settings to receive these notifications.
4. Please provide the organizer with your contact number at the time of signing, so that the organizer will have your number in the event the organizer needs to contact you about the event. If you don't, then your RSVP will be canceled.
5. For events designated as Family-Style Dining: Dining for this event has been designated as Family-Style. The food bill will be split evenly between all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance to attend, you have to be amenable to what the group/AO will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. Most of the dishes we order will be at least moderately spicy. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you. In addition, if you have ANY dietary restrictions or ingredients you do not wish to consume, then you may want to skip this event. Ordering dishes modified to fit someone's dietary needs or personal tastes will alter the true flavors of those dishes for the rest of the group.
6. During family-style dining events, please use communal utensils for all dishes being shared at the table. Please take a small portion for yourself first. Once everyone at the tables has received their portion of a dish, you may help yourself to seconds if there is any left.
7. To help cover the $360.00 organzier fee charged to me by MeetUp to maintain this group, a $1.00 fee will be added to the total you owe for your meal/participation at each event you attend.
If you cannot agree with these rules, please do not attend.
