ALIVE N KICKIN AT THE TAMAQUA

Details
Led by Pepe Cardona, Co-Founder and Lead Singer, Alive n Kickin has been a mainstay of the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut Music Scene for decades.
Alive n Kickin became famous for recording one of the most beloved pop songs of the 1970s. Their number one hit single--"Tighter, Tighter"--was written and produced by Tommy James of Tommy James and the Shondells, who also wrote and recorded such hits as "Mony, Mony," "I Think We're Alone Now," and "Crimson and Clover."
"Tighter, Tighter" sold over a million copies and earned Alive n Kickin a gold record, which was presented to them at Madison Square Garden when they opened up for Eric Burden and War.
The group toured with many well-known bands, including the aforementioned Eric Burden and War, Chicago, The Five Stairsteps, Frank Zappa, Seals and Crofts, Mott The Hoople, Rare Earth, The Impressions, The Brooklyn Bridge, Joey Dee and the Starlighters, Randy and the Rainbows, Gary U.S. Bonds, Larry Chance and the Earls, Sha Na Na, Ides of March, The Flaming Ember and Pacific Gas and Electric.
Alive n Kickin appeared on such national television shows as "Dick Clark's American Bandstand" from L.A., "The Mike Douglas Show" from Philly, "Upbeat" from Cleveland, and "The Clay Cole Show" from N.Y. The band has played major venues such as Madison Square Garden, Baltimore Civic Center, Miami Convention Center, The Steel Pier in Atlantic City, and Hotel Wynn Las Vegas.
And now joining the group--and adding a second generation--Pepe's son, Tim Cardona on lead guitar.
Alive N Kickin are still kicking even after over 40 years. They will be playing at the Tamaqua in Gerritsen Beach which is conveniently located minutes off of the Belt Parkway via Exit 9. The band usually goes on at 10 PM and plays a few sets. In the past, there has always been a $10 cover charge. I would naturally assume it will be the same that night. Will find out for sure as it gets closer to the date of the event. Some of our members like to carpool as that makes things easier. We will try to set something up if anyone is interested. Hope to see a lot of new faces and some old ones too. The phone number for the venue is 718-646-9212. You can call there for additional information.
