4th Tuesday Learnshop - “Macro Photography - It’s a Small World After All!”

A Practical Guide to Close-Up Photography with Jeff Milsteen

Close-up photography covers a number of photographic genres — from nature to tabletop to abstract — and presents limitless creative opportunities for photographers of all levels. This presentation will focus on the tools and techniques needed to get up close and personal with small subjects.

You don't need an expensive macro lens to take amazing close-up photos. We’ll explore the range of inexpensive equipment that can be used to make successful macro images. We'll also talk about tips and techniques that will help you improve your close-ups. Join us for what promises to be an educational and entertaining evening!

Remember: April's competition is "macro" so this will be a great primer for those of you who haven't yet taken your photographs for the competition!

SPS has three standing meetings each month for its members and guests. The First Friday meeting features an outside speaker and a competition. While competition entries at these monthly meetings are restricted to currently paid-up members, we ALWAYS welcome visitors interested in photography to attend. The Learnshops (fourth Tuesdays) and Coffee & Critiques (second Saturdays) are intended for members, but again, we welcome visitors. If you attend regularly, we ask that you help support the club (which pays for the rental of the facilities, supplies, and equipment) by becoming a member!
