This Month's Speaker and Topic
Martin Catherall (Readify) - A look at Azure CosmosDB
Martin (http://martincatherall.com/) has over 15 years of experience working with data- driven applications built on SQL Server and the Microsoft Data Platform technology.
He has substantial experience as a developer, database administrator and consultant.
Martin founded the Christchurch SQL Server User Group and ran several SQL Saturdays in that city before relocating to Melbourne in early 2016.
He currently volunteers as a Regional Mentor for PASS and maintains strong involvement in the Australian and New Zealand Data Platform communities.
Azure Cosmos DB is Microsoft’s Globally Distributed, Multi-Model database service. Transparently scaling across multiple Azure regions, Cosmos DB provides for many API’s including MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin and SQL. It offers multiple consistency models and guarantees up-time or 5 9’s.
In this session we’ll take a look at this technology and learn how it might be useful – either now or in the future.
