Dear Training Wheelers,

We are pleased to announce that Maxim Sobolewski will be visiting our workshop on 9/13/2017. Maxim is the product marketing manager for JetBrains DataGrip. JetBrains (https://www.jetbrains.com)is a software product company that makes effective developer tools.

Their product DataGrip is a multi-engine database environment. It supports Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, SQLite, HyperSQL, Apache Derby and H2. Targeting the needs of SQL developers, DataGrip makes working with databases an enjoyable experience.

In this talk Max is going to show what DataGrip is about. From basics like how to write a simple query faster, to some more advanced stuff like using multiple cursors and transposing tables.

What will be covered:

• Creating a simple query. Various types of code completion, code snippets, expanding wildcards, working with subqueries.

• Data editor. Editable result-sets, bulk submit, multiple submit, transposing data.

• Data import/export. Import from CSV file, export to JSON or UPDATES, INSERTS.

• Export to other databases.

• Navigation. Searching for database objects, data, SQL code, files, settings etc.

• Other features. User parameters, diff tool, evaluate expression, transaction control

During the workshop we'll have a "Mingle Moment" allowing you to take a break from the course to network and get to know your fellow SQL Training Wheelers. You will also have a chance to meet Max and ask any questions you may have.
