What we're about

The STL Cyber Meetup (STLCYBER) is the premier gathering of top cyber talent, and those wanting to learn about cyber, from the St. Louis region and beyond to cover the issues and new developments in information security. Topics include enterprise security, mobile cyber, endpoint security, security policy, governance, compliance, forensics, offensive and defensive security strategy, Fintech security, the dark web, secure IoT. For every event, TechGuard Security donates $25 to LaunchCode (https://www.launchcode.org/), a nonprofit offering free tech education and job placement opportunities to bring new people from all backgrounds into the tech field and reshape the way employers think about hiring.

Meetings will feature an industry/enterprise expert speaker, demonstrations of innovative technologies from security vendors, panel discussions, workshops, and a top cyber networking opportunity. Cybersecurity continues to dominate the front page—and the St. Louis region is building unique capacity and innovation in cyberspace.

Whether an expert or one entering the field, we welcome you to network, learn about new technologies, and share with one another.

Cyber Meetup is held in person and online on the first Tuesday of every month unless we are required to reschedule.

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm -- Featured Presentation, Christian Espinosa will be presenting: Why We Are Losing the Cyberwar and What We Can Do About It

Brief Description: In this presentation, Christian describes why a high IQ is a lost superpower when effective communication, true intelligence, and self-confidence are not embraced. With his seven-step methodology and stories from the field, Christian helps you develop your team’s technical minds so they become better humans and strong leaders who excel in every role. This talk provides you with an enlightening perspective of how to turn your biggest unknown weakness into your strongest defense.

Christian Espinosa is an entrepreneur, the founder of Alpine Security, a white hat hacker, certified high-performance coach, professor, and lover of heavy metal music and spicy food. He’s also an Air Force veteran and Ironman triathlete. He used to value being the “smartest person in the room,” only to realize that his greatest contribution to humanity, leadership, and the fight against cybercrime is his ability to bring awareness and solutions to challenges associated with high IQ/low EQ people. Christian is a speaker, coach, and trainer in the Secure Methodology, helping to make the smartest people in the room the best leaders in the field.
