From the Inside Out: Building a City Vacancy Portal
Dear colleagues! We had a great first meetup that generated a great turnout. We are grateful to everyone that joined us for our last meeting. With that said, we would like to announce our next meetup that we've organized and this one is about a project about making St Louis better with dataviz. Jonathan Leek, who was the lead developer on this project, working collaboratively with St Louis City's administration and other members from our Daugherty team, developed a portal that for the first time shed a light on a big problem we have here in St Louis — vacant lots and buildings. His project was a tremendous success. (Local papers and radio stations raved about the project. He is now a famous superstar and we were able to take this superstar from the sky and give it to you.) Jonathan has volunteered to share with us how he did it. His presentation is titled, "From the Inside Out: Building a City Vacancy Portal." Jon's Bio: Project Info: As promised, we will provide food and drinks. Following the presentation, we anticipate a great Q&A session followed by a discussion of the goals and objectives of the group including future topics and presenters. We're looking forward to seeing you all! Please RSVP as soon as you can, mark your calendar, and, most importantly, join us on the date below. Date & Time: November 26, 2018; 6:00 - 7:30 PM Location: Daugherty Business Solutions, 3 Cityplace Drive, St Louis, MO. 11th Floor

What we're about

Do you Tableau? Do you Qlik? Do you D3? Whatever viz you speak, we want to hear from you. The goal of this meetup is to learn all of the modern dataviz best practices and tools. We will have presenters at every meetup and we will learn something new every time. And guess what? The events will be sponsored by Daugherty Business Solutions, which means that we won't be sitting there and just chewing on pens. Instead, we'll be chewing pizza (or salad) and drinking soda (or water).
