Applied Fundamentals of Design

Meetup starts at 6:30pm, with 30 minutes of social time. Beginning at 7pm, Tom Collier will present Applied Fundamentals of Design:

Tom has worked in the user interface and information design domains for over 15 years. His career path started out in geo-spatial applications and the hyper/multi spectral domain, and eventually moved to biological systems. His areas of expertise range from designing user interfaces to data visualizations and info graphics. Tom will lead us on an exploration of design fundamentals and their practical application in everyday development work.

Starting about 8:15pm, we'll move into a hacking session to experiment with the material that's been presented, and with JavaScript and node.js in general.

Complementary sodas and sandwiches will be provided, and you're welcome to BYOB, so come hungry, come thirsty, bring your laptop and be ready to code!

Bryan, that's true. However, the evening's presentation will run until approximately 8pm, and the party at the City Museum is scheduled to run until 10pm. Also, the two venues are fairly close to one another. So STLJS attendees could plan on staying through the presentation and then heading to the party with plenty of time left for partying. :-)

Hey FYI this is the night a bunch of user groups are invited to the City Museum party attached to Strange Loop. Kind of unfortunate scheduling conflict there.
