Intro to Programming with Python

Details
Update: as of Wednesday morning, 1/8/14, the class is full with 40 people signed up. Which is awesome! (Yeah, we know, it says 18. Not everyone registered via meetup.) Some spots may open back up. If you would like to be notified if/when that happens, sign up for the waiting list here at Meetup.
If you've registered here at Meetup but have not paid via PayPal, you should have received a message on the evening of Wednesday evening with some instructions. We're holding your spots for now, but those seats will be released for other people if we haven't got payment by Saturday 1/11/14.
STL Python and Fort Pedro Informatics (http://fortpedro.com/) are holding a five-session Introductory Programming class at Nebula (http://nebulastl.com/) in the heart of the Cherokee Street Business District (http://www.cherokeestation.com/).
This class is for total beginners with an interest in learning to program, but no prior programming experience. Python (http://www.python.org/) was developed as a programming language for teaching, but it is also used for high-productivity development in organizations such as Google, Dropbox, NASA, Rackspace, and several web sites you probably use.
Classes are every other Wednesday from January 22 to March 19, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, with substantial snacks (pizza, etc.) and non-alcoholic beverages provided. On the Wednesdays that fall in between class meetings, instructors will be available in a Google Hangout for "office hours", in case you get stuck and need some help. The first meeting will focus on getting to know your classmates, and getting Python installed and running on your laptop. (Windows, Macintosh, Linux, etc. — we’re flexible.)
Important: The cost for all five classes is $25.00, which covers the cost of food and space rental. In addition to RSVPing here, please register at http://fortpedro.com/classes/intro-to-programming-with-python-january-march-2014/ .
