What we're about

Saint Louis Coffee Shop Coders is a dynamic group that is all about bringing IT people together. There will be meetings where we work on personal projects, and there will be a variety of other options as the group grows. This is currently a rebranding of the CWE Coding Hangouts, but it will begin to resemble the CU Coffee Shop Coders ( https://www.meetup.com/CU-Coffeeshop-Coders/ ) that I was formerly involved in.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Central West End Coding Hangouts is a group to work on creative programming projects in our free time. We will alternate locations between co-working spaces, cafés, pubs, kitchen tables, etc.

You are welcome to come and work on your project, and if you feel like you want to present on it, or give a tutorial, you can do that too.

REMOTE Personal Project Work Time or Learning

Online event

This is a time to work on some project work or study or work on the job hunt. This is a great time to update your skills in a group setting or so that side project you always wanted to finish. Or maybe you're working on applying for positions and taking coding tests. All are welcome to join in. We will be continuing the remote meetings a while longer and monitor the situation to see when we should resume in-person meetings. I am moving the meetings to later in the day to accommodate summer activities. The reasoning behind having a block of time set aside like this is to have people commit at least one chunk of time per week to build up skills. This is essentially not only for people new to the IT field but also to those who are seasoned professionals to prove they are keeping up with technology. What you work on doesn't always have to be a grueling task and it also doesn't have to be coding. It is ok to come and go during this meeting if you cannot commit to the entire chunk of time. I am using WebEx for these meetings.
