Happy's Running Club is a social running/drinking club that meets every Tuesday night (rain or shine, year round!) at 6pm at City Park Grill (3157 Morganford Rd.) for a casual 5k in Tower Grove Park and a beer or two. We average 50+ run-drinkers every Tuesday! The spirit of Happy's is fun and social. We welcome runners of all abilities—from 6-minute-milers to run-walkers to I-just-wanna-drinkers. Dogs and strollers are welcome! There is nothing competitive about this club; it's just meant to bring people together around a run and a nice cold beer! Your first run is on us, so come check us out for free with no obligation to come back (but we sure hope you do)! After that, an annual membership is $35, and includes a technical dri-fit Happy’s Running Club t-shirt, drink specials at the bar after each run, and special surprises at several runs throughout the year including race discounts, gear promotions and more! ************************** Pace for this run is around 9-10 min/mile. All runners are welcome! If you are hesitant to join us because you don't think you can keep up, come on out, we don't leave anyone behind! Distance for Forest Park runs (Turtle Park or Visitor Center start depending on the time of year) is 6 miles for the main group. Sometimes a group will break off and do a 1/2 loop for 3-4 total miles. Turtle Park location meets in the parking lot. Visitor Center location meets inside the Visitor Center building.
This will be a no drop 4-8+ mile social trail run. While faster runners can head out ahead, we will be stopping at each fork in the road to allow for everyone to re-group. I will be averaging about a 11 min mile pace. Plan on technical sections through single track, gravel, rock etc and maybe a creek crossing. The Castlewood trails are among the best & most beautiful in the area, if you've been wanting to take your road game to the trails, this will be perfect for you! Each week we will mix up the route to keep it fresh. While this is a NO Drop run, If you aren't able to maintain at least a steady jog (14 min pace), then this is likely not for you.
