Online Frontend Talk: Integrating biometrics authentication in React Native

We'd like to invite you to our ONLINE Frontend Talk with Aron Berezkin, who will tell you a bit more about how integrating biometrics authentication can make users of any app happy.

What do mobile users genuinely dislike? Endlessly filling in their username and password credentials. Therefore it has become standard to implement biometrics to refresh their session painlessly. This is especially important for security-focused apps with very short-lived access tokens, some logging you out right after you close the app. But actually, any app can benefit from the integration — it helps show that the app is top-notch!

In this talk, we will look into possible implementations in React Native, to ultimately discover that there are quite a few dilemmas we have to face. For example, do we implement the authentication logic purely on frontend, taking all accountability for security of users credentials? Or do we shift it to backend, facing a minimum two-week delay in implementation? Safety vs. complexity, speed vs. cost. You know the struggle.

The bottom line is: Integrating biometrics in React Native is actually not rocket science and, after this talk, you will know which questions to raise to find a solution that best fits your use-case.
