ABSTRACT

At SIGGRAPH 2012, Panasonic Silicon Valley Labs demonstrated a table top interface for new 3D interactive user experience.  It enables virtual reality 3D graphics, 3D audio, natural free-hand 3D interactions, and it is a cloud based hub for personal devices to enable social interactions between multiple users.  Possible applications include kiosks, virtual tourism, shopping, education, training, environment simulation, and data visualization.

In this event the team from Panasonic will talk about the rapid prototyping process of developing this demo, the process of building new user experience, and details of the technologies developed for this prototype.  And you will have chance to play with this prototype in person.

It was a great demo of a very interesting system. The number of participants was just right and we all had a good opportunity to try the system and talk to the developers.

missed this, due to obligations in San Francisco... being an augmented reality researcher myself (who somehow missed this display at siggraph!), is there a way to visit another time?
