New Event (11/23) | Volunteer Organizers/Hosts

From: Laura
Sent on: Sunday, November 10, 2013, 12:06 PM

Hello,

See the new event below!

You may have noticed a reduced number of events and more cosponsored events.   The reason is that I've recently accepted a more than full time career opportunity  -  and leading up to that - I had increased my consulting hours with the same company.

As you may have seen from my prior e-mail, I'm looking for an individual or a business to partner with to continue and grow Singles Supper Club.  As you might imagine, there has been significant interest - mostly from people who have good intentions but don't want to or can't contribute financially.   One of the more interesting opportunities I'd like to share with you is from a reputable travel company.  However, this company would be more interested if there was someone like me - who can (and has time to) organize & host events - to partner with and who also has the financial means to make an investment.  The combination of events & travel could do well in the Bay Area....sort of like Events & Adventures but less expensive and more personal.  I'm still interested in hearing from you if any of this resonates with you.

In the meantime, I'd like to get some more quality singles events on the calendar.  If you or anyone you know is interested in volunteering to organize and host a singles event, please email me at [address removed]. Or if there are any restaurant, wineries, or club managers/owners reading this and you would like me to have an event at your location - please email me right away!

Best,

Laura

Dear Ladies & Gentlemen,

Greetings & Salutations!

Ye are hereby cordially invited to grace us with your presence at thee olde Hendy Guesthouse 2nd Annual Holiday Gala & Fundraiser near downtown Sunnyvale on Saturday November 23rd, 2013 for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Last Year we raised $762 + 150 lbs to reach the Bronze Level [masked] points).

Goal for 2013 is the Silver Level (4000+ points, $1 = 2.5 pts & 1 lb food = 1 pts).

Please help us raise the bar and feed the quarter million people in the Bay Area (10%) who depend on the SHFB. Cash has a much higher point value than food!

AGENDA-

6pm- Complimentary Dinner Buffet & Champagne (RSVP Coat & Tie Required)

9pm- Disco Dance Party (No RSVP Required)

Donations (cash & food) will be accepted for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Please make your checks payable to SHFB. http://shfb.org/

206 E. California Ave., Sunnyvale, CA. 94086.

(between Mathilda & Fair Oaks, look for the palm trees and open sign)

Please use the large parking lot directly across the street at Murphy Park.

Note: The Hendy Guesthouse was built around the turn of the 20th Century in the early 1900s by the entrepreneurial industrialist John Hendy after the 1906 earthquake from whence he relocated Joshua Hendy Iron Works from San Francisco to Sunnyvale and bolstered Sunnyvale into a thriving economic community 100 years ago. Hendy Iron Works was the largest Steel Mill and Foundry on the West Coast manufacturing both Heavy Equipment for the Mining Industry during the California Gold Rush, and massive 137 ton Marine Steam Engines during WWI. The Hendy “California” Stamp Mill of 1918 is prominently Displayed across the street at the Martin Murphy Jr. Historical Park.

Look forward to sharing a memento of Sunnyvale art, culture, history & architecture!

yours truly, TJ –
