Why Applied Improv?
People learn best through experiential involvement. Applied Improv works by responding to an experience the moment it happens, creating flashes of spontaneity which lead to insight & creativity through participant self-discovery.
Highly effective individuals and organizations using Applied Improv are able to respond positively to new realities, are driven to achieve desired outcomes and can cooperatively resolve conflict and reach agreement. They generate new ideas, incorporate changes quickly and easily and communicate constructively, consistently and proactively. These are skills necessary to see things from new perspectives, act without knowing the exact outcome and recognize the need to co-create strategies and vision.
Learn how to play, use, understand Applied Improv concepts and techniques that you will apply immediately to keep yourself and others involved, focused and interested. Experience how Applied Improv works and why it’s such a powerful way to develop skills that are important to all personal and business interactions and relationships.
Why Humor?
Humor is a key tool for any individual or group going through change or renewal. Understanding humor roles and impact leads to more transparency, honesty and connection with others.
People use humor to join and identify a common universe. They consciously and unconsciously make statements through humor about themselves, their relationships, their groups, and their fears, which they find difficult to say otherwise. Humor or its absence, functions like a thermostat, controlling the climate within an environment. In organizations, teams, friendships or interpersonal relationships, humor is one way the dynamics of the relationship are illuminated. Simply put, positive humor fosters warm and inviting feelings. Negative, divisive humor makes a place and its people seem cold, cruel or aloof. Absence of humor altogether indicates a systemic blockage of communication. This program examines practical ways and means of understanding & using humor personally and professionally
