Volunteer Santa's Toy Shop @ Salvation Army

This is a plea for those who may be free today to join us. We need around 14 more people for this annual volunteer event.  There are 14 others who will be joining us from my personal friend/family pool and my other meetup group - http://www.meetup.com/Out-and-About-in-St-Paul/events/128533982/

Meet us at Woodland Hills Church - free parking in lot. Ask for volunteer room and go there to sign in - say you are with Michelle's Meetup Group.

I will be wearing gray slacks and a black shirt with a red hoodie. :) I have blonde hair, so if you see me come up and introduce yourself. My parents will be helping out with us, as well as colleagues and all of you!

I may be there closer to 3:30pm. My job gets done at 2:ish and I am on the other side of St. Paul. Will try to make it there as soon as I can.

My cell is[masked]-7823. We are down to 28 people and we need 40. So if you want to bring anyone older than 15 you are most welcome. 15 year olds need to be chaperoned by 1 adult per child.

When you get there, park for free in lot and come into the door. Ask for the volunteer room, sign in and relax. We will get an orientation there.

Remember to eat and drink when you are there, take a break and don't be shy to ask for a break. That's important and if you don't speak up and ask or find me (I could cover for you), you may not get a break. Whatever job you sign up for, you will be there the whole time, so note that.

The most family contact is doing the shopping job.  There are sit down jobs and standing jobs. They will explain everything to you.

Dress down and in layers. Wear comfy shoes Keep personal stuff at home or you will have to keep it with you because there is no where to lock it up.

I am soo excited about this event - been doing it for years and love it. Thanks for joining me in making the holidays special for those in need! :)

Feel free to bring and donate unwrapped gift items for teens - they often run out of gifts for teens.

See you soon.

Wow...THANK YOU FOR COMING OUT TONIGHT TO HELP FAMILIES DURING THE HOLIDAYS! Would be interested to see what you thought... please rate this event. Wow.. we served 150+ families tonight and thanks to those of you who stayed til 7:30pm until the last family went through the line. The whole program serves 30,000 children this year which is great!!! :) WOW! They had a shortage of volunteers not only from our group but from other groups, so that's why it went over time. Kristin - were you there? We didn't see you.. please let me know! :) Greg, thanks for signing up today and coming to help! Hope it was a good time for you. :):)

I usually schedule this event every September. Next time, I will post from the beginning in Single Volunteer so we can get more volunteers.

Check out my other group - we do lots of fun things! http://www.meetup.com/Out-and-About-in-St-Paul/

    Thanks for coming tonight! :)
