What we're about

This group was established for anyone interested in making beautiful works of art glass. Some people work on glass fusing, others on stained glass, and still others focus on lampworking.

For those of you completely new to glass arts, these are NOT glass classes. While you can see what we are doing, and we will teach you a little about what is going on, there is no formal teaching here. If you want to do a little project, there are things to do for $5 - $20 and you will end up with a small glass creation that you made (not the same night though since it takes time to properly fuse or anneal the glass). Formal glass classes are offered at https://www.swartglass.com/Workshops-and-Classes_c_1581.html

Ideally, our meetups provide a place for the experienced glass artist to spread out a bit, commune with other glass artists of varying abilities and style, and enjoy each other's love of glass while we build a sense of community.

We support one another in our quest to create exquisite art. All skill levels are welcome.

Our goal is to meet other glass enthusiasts to share ideas, share our resources, and build a fun community of glass artists.

Looking forward to exploring the range of amazing ideas and skills each of us has in our favorite medium: glass.

Create art, meet people, and break some glass !

SW Art Glass

• What we'll do
After introducing ourselves and mingling, meetup attendees will be able to work on glass projects and share ideas, art, and techniques in a fully stocked studio.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS NOT A GLASS CLASS. Instead it is a place where glass artists congregate to work on their projects and who are willing to share their insights with other members and people who are new to glass. You are welcome to come as a complete newbie to glass, but plan on taking it all in rather than being taught anything in detail. It will help you decide if you are interested in glass as an artistic medium, but not give you detailed knowledge on how to become good with glass. For glass classes, visit https://www.swartglass.com/Workshops-and-Classes_c_1581.html

• What to bring
At the least, meetup members must bring an interest in glass. Members can bring a project to work on or buy materials from the store to continue a project or start a new one. Some tools are available to borrow, but bringing your own tools is wise.

• Important to know
The goal is to help others with our love of glass, so bring questions or knowledge. Also, glass can be sharp, so we keep band-aids on site. If you are cutting glass, safety glasses are required so bring a pair or be ready to buy some.
