About us
SWFL Coders is a community for technology enthusiasts, including developers, coders, and non-coders, who are eager to explore the captivating world of programming.
We gather on the second Thursday of each month at our official venue, the Collaboratory in Downtown Fort Myers.
Our goal is to expand the SWFL Tech Community, inspiring members to either learn to code or, for those who are already experienced, to acquire new skills. We cherish the opportunity to connect and learn together, fostering mutual growth and knowledge exchange.
Our members come from diverse backgrounds, contributing to the richness of our collective experience.

π€ AI for the Office, Family and Coding... All on a Budget
Collaboratory, 2031 Jackson St, Fort Myers, FL, USIn this talk, we'll explore how to use AI effectively without breaking the bank. We'll start with a practical solution that works for almost everyone, then move into tools and workflows that can be deployed locally or on a VPS.
While we won't be running LLMs locally, the approach demonstrated can be adapted to local models if you have the necessary hardware.
We'll also discuss costs, tradeoffs, and the key factors to consider when selecting the right model for the right task, helping you get the most value from AI while keeping expenses under control.
