What we're about

This is a meetup group for all film fans living in the SW London area. There will be a regular meetup to view the latest releases, meet new people and, for those of us who have them, abuse our Unlimited cards :-)

Most meetups will be scheduled for evenings and weekends so if you're wondering what to do after work or feeling at a loose end at the weekend, come along and lose yourself in the big screen.

We use the Wandsworth cineworld for many of the blockbuster/ big releases. We also go to the Cine Lumiere (South Ken), the BFI Southbank, BFI IMAX, Victoria Curzon, Clapham Picturehouse and the Ritzy in Brixton. We have also tried Whirled Cinema, near Loughhborough Junction. We go to Italian film nights at the Wandsworth Rossopomodoro and also Rooftop cinema in Peckham. We are always open to new suggestions for venues.

We are an active, social group; our meetups don't involve huge numbers of people, so please do not RSVP or change your RSVP if you can no longer come. You will be expected! Hope to see you soon :)

NB - If anyone is going to the cinema and wish to organise a meet up - feel free to post in comments, or get in touch with organiser Lydia Wheat to post about it.

NB 2 - Lydia Wheat mainly organises film events at the Peckhamplex and Wimbledon Library!

Short film night on the theme of "Love" at the Peckhamplex cinema

Hello, Hello! Before being able to make a feature film, all film directors have to make a short film. I've therefore curated a selection of short films made by aspiring feature film-makers. This is a fun and different approach to film-making. At the end of the screening, there is a very short Q&A with the film-makers who talk to the public and explain how they made their short films. Below is the line-up of the short films which will be screened. Ticket only £4.99 : https://bit.ly/2B1rm23 Facebook link: https://bit.ly/2CTohlY After the screening, we will go up to the Peckham Levels to have a quick drink. I hope to see you there. If any of you want to organise a meet up, feel free to get in touch. Best, Lydia Short Film Night at the Peckhamplex Discover up and coming film directors.
