About us

Sahaja means 'spontaneous', 'natural' or 'easy'. The Sahaja Yoga meditation technique is for everyone and anyone, and doesn't involve any postures or stretches. For those who make the time to practice on a daily basis (even for a just 10 minutes a day), meditation (or 'thoughtless awareness') can be surprisingly  easy!

Anyone who comes can achieve balance and learn:

* The basics of how to meditate.

* Simple steps so you can meditate at home.

* The benefits of meditation over relaxation.

Sahaja yoga defines meditation as a state where you are completely conscious but at the same time completely without thought (thoughtless awareness). In this state we gain a unique perspective and insight into the beauty of our own innate nature. Physical and mental health benefits have also been attributed to regular Sahaja meditation practice through comprehensive Australian research (Learn more in the book ‘silence your mind’ or at www.beyondthemind.com).

Sahaja Yoga meditation was founded by HH Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi in 1970 and is based on kundalini awakening. Shri Mataji felt that meditation was so essential to our spiritual growth that there had to be a simple and accessible method to achieve it that was completely free of charge. Sahaja Yoga is now practised in over 80 countries world wide!
