All aspiring and published writers of fiction meet in person to learn from each other how to create well-crafted stories. We get together a couple of times a month to read and critique each other's efforts; also, we may have wisdom talks and socratic discussions on relevant topics, and social gatherings. This is strictly non-commercial; no member of this group will charge a fee for profit; if there are common expenses, please pitch in to share the costs.
Check the meetup announcement for the location of this event!
Same, usual format: read your material aloud to all participants. Or come for a brainstorming session on plotting, character development, any other relevant topic. No material to present? Your contribution is always welcome anyway--come and shatter that writer's block!
Historically, email submissions have been minimal -- I suspect that will not change. There will be verbal feedback in any case. If you submit, plain text or PDF files are the accepted formats, as they provide a very low chance for malicious content. No Microsoft Word (the .doc family variety) files please!
See the group message board for details. General submission guideline: about 3 pages of content, 12-point proportional font, 1.5 line spacing. That makes it[masked] words or so. Shorter is OK. Longer, well, it depends... Again: no material, no problem: come and share time.
Constructive feedback, advice, and suggestions for improvement are always welcome. C U soon.
