What we're about

We are the local chapter of national American Sewing Guild that promotes the art and skill of sewing. Our chapter spans from Belleville, IL to Columbia, MO. The chapter has eleven neighborhood groups where people who enjoy sewing meet up monthly to share methods and techniques. These neighborhood groups contribute to the community by sewing and donating articles to charities such as cancer caps, baby quilts and fleece blankets. Visit our website at asgstlouis.org.

You are welcome to attend two neighborhood groups meetings before formally joining the Guild. We also hold special sewing related events for members and the public. Membership provides a quarterly magazine, a bi monthly newsletter and numerous discounts at local and national sewing retailers. Come join us!

City Sew-Ers Neighborhood Group

City Sewing Room

The City Sew-ers neighborhood group focuses on learning a new technique each month. At most of our meetings we do a 30-60 minute hands-on project, and members are welcomed to stay longer if the project needs more time. Sew Belles Neighborhood Group

Zion Lutheran Church basement

Come to make new friends, talk about sewing, and learn something new! This is a meeting of one of the neighborhood groups of the St. Louis chapter of the American Sewing Guild. We are an established, vibrant group who have recently started posting our meetings on Meetup. (So don't be alarmed by the small number of attendees listed here--most of the existing members aren't using the Meetup site!) Fenton Daytime Neighborhood Group

Fenton Sew and Vac

The Fenton ASG neighborhood group's members have varied interests. We have many talented quilters, garment sewists, crafters, and those who enjoy upcycling thrift store finds. Our group is very generous with their time and talent for charity. Every meeting finds contacts for various groups in need, going home with a stack or trunkful of donated items. Fenton Daytime members have sewn over 300 hours for others in 2018. Come to make new friends, talk about sewing, and learn something new!
