Summer Solstice Sweat Lodge

Women from the StL Area Woman to Woman and men from the StL Mankind Project hold quarterly sweat lodges to honor the Equinox and Solstice Dates. All adults are welcome. Each ceremony begins at 7 p.m, but we prefer that you arrive around an hour early so that you can get to know each other a bit before entering the lodge, perhaps help out with anything that needs to be done, have time to change your clothes, etc. This is especially important if you have never attended a sweat lodge before--the water pourer will want to talk to you to make sure you are prepared for the ceremony. You are welcome to arrive when the fire is lit, about 5 p.m. This is a mixed-gender sweat lodge. Appropriate attire is shorts/t-shirts or swim trunks for men & long dresses/skirts or shorts/t-shirts for women. It is recommended that you wear cotton or another material that breathes inside the lodge. There is a place to change clothes before and after the ceremonies.

Because it is late after the ceremony, please bring light snacks to share, rather than heavy food for the potluck.

P.S. There is no charge for the ceremony, and "love offerings" are gratefully accepted, though not obligatory, to help cover costs.
