Let's Learn to Dance Bachata in Chicago! A multi group event.

  • to
  • Dance Center Chicago

3868 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL (map)

    41.952198 -87.677574

  • Meet in the lobby.
  • In this one day, 3 hour class you will learn to dance Bachata in time to the music with another person.

By the end of class you will even learn a fun turn combination.

We start with the basic step and timing. Next, we learn to hear the beats of music in the measure. Then, we learn how to connect with, and communicate to, our partner through the movements of our body utilizing our dance frame.

    More Information

Then, we progress to turns and turn indications and intermediate level moves such as the wrap and hammerlock that will have people standing and watching you move to the alluring beats of Bachata.

No partner is necessary. We rotate partners in class. This will help you develop your skills more quickly and allow everybody the opportunity to practice the steps being taught and also to meet new people with whom you might practice at another time. Nevertheless, you may stay with one partner if you choose.

SHOES: We recommend soles that allow you to slide safely across the dance floor, such as leather, smooth plastic, or suede. A closed back, or a strap across the heel, will help keep your foot in place as you turn. Rubber-soled shoes, athletic shoes and flip flops are not recommended.

CLOTHING: Although we don't have a strict dress code, the norm for our classes is nicer-casual. Layers are suggested as you will heat up as the class progresses. Clothing should breathe. Cotton or other natural fibers is preferred. Clothing that restricts your movements is not recommended.

As space in this class is limited, advance registration and payment is required.

Registration will be accepted until 24 hours before the class.

Payment may be made by clicking this link Enroll in Blazing Bachata in Chicago. A Pay Pal account is NOT required.
