Building Products People Love

Details

This is now an online event via Zoom.

"Building Products People Love" is a meetup for sharing lessons learned from horror stories, great wins, methodology, and mindset. From millions of apps, we fall in love with a rare few. How did these apps and the teams building them achieve that? Building products combines art, science, and technology in a rapidly evolving field. The term minimum viable product (MVP) was first coined in 2001, and there are multiple acronyms attempting to replace it.

Today even enterprise software, which was traditionally bland and complex, is vying for the hearts of users.

We'll be hearing from product managers and designers from companies like Notion, Slack, TikTok, Venmo, VSCO, Uber, Reddit, and Unity. The topics will span understanding user needs, finding new ideas, testing them, visual design, functional design, user psychology, and more. Our goal will be to answer questions such as:

  • What makes an interaction magical?
  • How do you reconcile contradictory feedback?
  • Do you start with function or form?
  • When is localization important? What kind?
  • Do you design based on data or instinct?

Attendees are those that are building products, or intend to. We expect a mix of product managers, designers, engineers and entrepreneurs.
