We are a group of compassion-focused thinkers who are setting the goal to further develop our skill of compassion using mindfulness. Anyone with a youthful mindset as well as an interest in positive thinking, mindfulness-meditation, or compassion, may join this group. Moreover, the goal of this group is to create a welcoming environment for members to develop the skill of compassion using mindfulness. And the reason this skill is important to develop is because many people do not stop to think about how their own thinking style influences their thoughts, mood and behavior, which is what Mindfulness teaches. So, compassion focused mindfulness is teaching the mind to become aware of the causes of pain and suffering (in ourselves and others) and allowing ourselves to be moved by our natural human reaction to alleviate all pain and suffering. The result is more positive emotions and better health. Therefore, we will begin our practice of developing this skill by reading the book Living with an Open Heart (by Russell Kolts and Thubten Chodron) - and practicing the mindfulness reflections at the end of each chapter.
Additionally, I will periodically schedule meetups for group mindfulness practice, discussion of sexuality, intellectual discussions, and whatever ever else seems interesting. Please note this group does aim to create a safe, welcoming, and judgement free environment for all members. Please be respectful.
