OpenStack Liberty & DevStack Tutorial

Details

Interested in learning more about OpenStack or running a small environment of your own? Are you confused with all the various OpenStack flavors? devStack? Mirantis? Ubuntu/Canonical? RedHat OpenStack? HP Helion?

We'll be walking through a demo of the OpenStack Liberty release. This will be a great introduction if you've never seen OpenStack in action. I'll run through using the Horizon GUI as well as Murano, the software catalog. With Murano, I'll demonstrate deploying a WordPress install (two VM across two virtual networks)

The second half will be a tutorial on how to run your a development OpenStack environment using DevStack on a virtual machine using VirtualBox. This is a great way to run OpenStack on your laptop. Instructions will be provided so you can try what you see at home.

A wifi accessible OpenStack cloud will be available for those interested in connecting and trying out the environment. Please bring your own wifi equipped laptop with a browser installed (SSH client optional).
