This month, we welcome Joel Markovitz, distressed debt and loss mitigation expert to discuss loan servicing, loss mitigation, and distressed debt acquisitions.
About Joel:
A graduate of California State University at Northridge, with a B.A in Journalism and a minor in business, Joel has worked in the distressed debt space since 1982. At Hayt, Hayt and Landau, Joel specialized in working with major healthcare and financial companies. He has also held the position of Western Regional Collections Manager for Integrity Credit a division of Bell-Atlantic, the Regional Finance Manager at International Harvester Credit. At Mortgage Outreach Services, Joel held positions of Director of Quality Control and Director of Risk Management, working with Citibank, Nationstar, Genworth Financial and Radian among others. Joel held the position of Vice- President of Operations and Vice President of Business Development at NuView Financial Services and at Land Home Financial Services. He is an expert in evaluating First and Second Mortgage Distressed Debt for acquisition and sale. As a recognized leader and expert in the field of servicing and loss mitigation, he speaks at events held around the country such and at all Inverse Investments Workshops, Noteworthy Convention, Paper Source, The Note School and other industry events. He has appeared on The Note MBA podcast ,This Week in Real Estate with Terry Hall, syndicated on KTRS radio and other industry podcasts and broadcasts.
