Windy Gap to Mount Islip to Big Cienega Trail
Details
This will be about an 8 mile RT hike to Mt. Islip. Hiking time will be about 4 hours, including breaks with elevation of about 2,413 feet.
To reach the trailhead, take Hwy. 39 from Azusa for about 25 miles and turn right into lot.

The hike is a combination of four trails: Windy Gap Trail #9W06 , Mt. Islip Trail #9W05, Islip Ridge Trail #9W08, and the Big Cienega Trail #9W07.
We will be taking a snack break near the remains of an old fire lookout cabin.

This is a moderate hike but NOT for beginners. For everyone’s safety, we will put everyone on the waitlist for pre-screening process.
Bring:
Plenty of water (2 liters),
snacks/lunch,
basic first aid,
appropriate clothing and footwear (waterproof boots and winter socks!)
Sunscreen/hat (even if its cold – you will still need sunscreen.)
Adventure pass
There should be plenty of parking. It may be challenging for most dogs so please don’t bring them.
