Next Tuesday's Gay Intellectual Salon year Review Meetup

From: Lee R.
Sent on: Sunday, December 16, 2012 12:38 PM

As you may already have heard our last Salon for the Year is on a different date (next Tu.Dec. 18th) and starts slightly later (7:15-9:30 p.m. at the LGTB Center on Market @ Octavia).

The topic is Our Year that Was -- the year that was for ourselves and for our community (however you choose to define a community that includes yourself).  This is a busy period yet we think an evening to reflect with thoughtful friends -- and strangers -- about What Has Been Learned from the past year followed by some fun sharing snacks and conversation will be pleasant.

Our organizing Committee members are bringing a little food to share plus plates, cups, and (non-alcoholic) drinks AND we invite those of you attending who wish to do so to bring a little food to share also.

We'll have our usual brief intro to other participants, small group discussions and finally a little longer time than usual at the end for chatting and snacking together.

Some small group possible questions/topics to get discussions started:

What is "your story" of the the year that was -- for yourself or "your community?

Anything about relationships (friends or family or romance) that you celebrate trying -- or want to avoid repeating?

On a longer historic canvass: How have my (or our community's) values changed over the course of our lives?

And What have I learned from the year just passed?

Lee Robbins for the Organizing Committee
