What we're about

Perseids, Geminids, Orionids… there are half a dozen major meteor showers in the Northern Hemisphere each year. Think of all the wishes you're missing! While San Francisco's foggy skies and urban glow make for challenging viewing, you can see meteors in the city.

This meetup is aimed at stargazers and night photographers of all levels. If you've never photographed a meteor before, you're especially welcome! During the peak of each major meteor shower, we'll meet in a high, dark spot within city limits to take photographs and peer into telescopes together.

We don't all have the equipment, time, or budget to camp in a dark desert to catch the perfect falling star. These meetups will help budding stargazers make the most of what we have, right where we are.
