Classic Film Screening, coffee and discussion. (Ongoing Monthly - Third Sunday)
CLASSIC FILM SCREENING! BEING MOVED TO THIRD WEEKEND EACH MONTH. The third Sunday of each month we will be hosting a screening of some of the best sci-fi films ever made. From George Pal classics like The Time Machine and War of the Worlds, to hidden gems like 8 Million Years to Earth and Enemy Mine. Don't worry, The Live and Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension will also be screening at some point. So far we have screened War of the Worlds, Forbidden plant and Colossus the Forbin Project. While many of you have probably seen these films before, this is a great time to revisit them and if you are so inclined, break open a game of chess or Scrabble during the film and relive scenes in between play. Which film will be screening next? We will have a couple choice each time and attendees will pick out the film once they arrive. Afterward we will discuss the films and who knows, might even have some fun. Feel free to bring snacks, coffee, tea and water will be provided along with a Scrabble and chess set. THERE IS A LIMIT OF 16 SEATS - FOR THIS EVENT.

What we're about

Welcome to the SJ Digital Filmmaker Network, an independent film & digital video resource for Silicon Valley and Northern California filmmakers, actors and production folk.

We will meet on a regular basis to spend time with other like minded creatives to discuss current projects, help each other source equipment, locations and support. This group has been formed to provide a safe place to ask questions, where filmmaking and its process can be discussed and dissected - somewhere we can collaborate in the craft of filmmaking in a digital landscape.

We'll also go check out movies together, grab coffee and maybe some food from time to time.

We also have members communicating on Facebook here: Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/SJDFN/)

This group is brought to you by the co-founders of San Jose International Short Film Festival & EAP Creative who will also host these upcoming events in their North San Jose studio location - this group is open to everyone interested in indie film production in the Northern California region and beyond, from beginner to pro.

Let's get your next project started.
