What we're about

This group will meet up one weekend day per month for lunch at a San Jose area tea room. Examples includes Lisa's at the Pruneyard, Satori Tea in downtown SJ, Tyme for Tea in the Niles district of Fremont, etc. Some months, we may have a hosted tea or a potluck tea. And some months, we may opt for a special tea outing such as Montalvo's Champagne High Tea or a fundraising group's tea.

Easter Tea at the English Rose in Pleasanton

The English Rose Tea Room & Gifts

Although we've been to this tea room before, I don't believe we've ever been to an Easter-theme tea anywhere! So, let's try this one out! $49.12/person covers the tea service, tax, and tip. The English Rose policy will allow individual cancellations up to 2 days before the tea, which means 04/11 before noon. Please prepay me via https://www.paypal.me/mamp/49.12 no later than 03/11, so that people on the waitlist can have a chance if RSVP'ed members can't make it. As usual, I'm not allowing guests until I give members who want to go a chance to RSVP.

Leland's Tea in Burlingame

Leland Tea Company - Burlingame

We're going to have to wait for the new Lisa's Tea Treasures in Campbell a bit longer, unfortunately! And Lovejoy's in Redwood City decided to close for a family wedding on 05/18! So, "Plan C" is to return to Leland's in Burlingame where six of us had quite a nice casual tea on their patio last July. One thing you can be absolutely POSITIVE about with respect to tea at Leland's is that you can't leave hungry (this is the only tearoom with an "all you can eat" policy for large groups), which will be very nice after some of the skimpy teas we've been to over the last several months. However, it's a more casual tea than most we are served--the crust is still on the bread, the sandwich quarters are over-stuffed, etc. It appears to have an all-male staff which is somewhat consistent with more food and less formality! Please prepay no later than Sunday, 03/24/19, using this PayPal link: https://www.paypal.me/mamp/45.00 Be sure to put "Leland's" on the PayPal memo line. Finally, PayPal sometimes deducts a fee at my end for credit card usage. In the past, if one selected "Friends & Family," no fee would be deducted. But I'm not sure that wording is still used. Whatever, please try your best to convince PayPal you're *giving* me money rather than paying for goods or services. Only merchants have to pay credit-card fees....

The Hidden Tea Room in Lodi

The Hidden Tea Room

Let's make a road trip to a new-for-us venue--Lodi's Hidden Tea Room! For just $29.50, we'll get their Queen's Tea including tax & tip! Plus, they can do vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. Just let me know if you have a dietary preference. However, their reservation/cancellation policy is a bit hard to deal with, so I need everyone who wants to go to pay *now*. If we have 15 or more, then I need to pay a deposit and we'll get the entire tea room. If we have less than 15, we'll be sharing the room with others and I won't have to pay a deposit. I'm guessing we'll have more than 15 who want to go, but I might be wrong, and the only way to find out is to require payment up front! So, if you are confident you want to attend this tea and have the date free on your calendar, please RSVP then prepay me right away via https://www.paypal.me/mamp/29.50 . For those of you who are wondering why I'm scheduling a June tea before a May one, it's because I'm holding May open in our schedule in the hope that the new Lisa's in Campbell will open that month!
