What we're about

Sandhills Secular Society is a group of atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, and humanists. It is intended to give those who identify themselves as such a sense of community, comradery, and support.
Being a nonbeliever can give someone a sense of isolation, or feeling that there is nobody they can talk to or that anyone else around them has the same thoughts. This group is meant to show that they are not alone. It is also meant to promote positive atheism, and striving toward being accepted by everyone and treating equally.
Our meetings are open to the public and anyone who is an atheist, atheist-friendly, or are questioning their beliefs.
While being a nonbeliever is what brings us together, this group is not meant to simply discuss religion, and only religion. As with any other community, any topic is up for discussion, and everyone’s opinion is welcome.
