Apache Kylin and Extreme OLAP in the Cloud

Details
OLAP is perhaps the most successful and well known example of the benefit of pre-computation technology in analytics. Other examples are Materialized Views in RDBMS, memory caching in Operating Systems, and the creation of Data Marts from Data Warehouses.
While some have been quick to declare the end of the OLAP era, there is now an open source pre-computation technology that elevates the functionality and performance of multi-dimensional cubes to the level of Extreme OLAP. That pre-computation technology is called Apache Kylin, and it delivers sub-second response time to queries (SQL, MDX, REST API) on huge datasets. Apache Kylin is the world’s leading open source solution for OLAP and query acceleration on today's massive datasets with over 1,000 installations worldwide.
In this MeetUp, you will learn everything you need to understand the basics of Apache Kylin, its main use cases, and clear steps for deploying it in your organization. The MeetUp will be led by one of the originators and main committers to the Apache Kylin project.
Attending this MeetUp, you’ll receive:
• An introduction to Apache Kylin, how it works, key applications, and how to get started using it
• A deep dive into modern Extreme OLAP, what makes it different from traditional OLAP, and other approaches to query acceleration
• Expert advice and a product demonstration of data modeling, building cuboids and cubes, and creating the Kylin precomputation layer.
See for yourself how Extreme OLAP will become an integral part of your new generation analytics software stack.
