Enjoying 91 years as part of the Santa Barbara community, the SB Lawn Bowls Club (http://www.santabarbaralbc.org/) maintains two bowling greens located in the heart of downtown. Set against the Santa Ynez mountains, with the distinct steeple of the Arlington theater in the background, it's the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing game of lawn bowls.
Played on a green similar to a putting green, the game is closely related to bocci.
Members can enjoy open bowling on Tuesdays, Thursdays (morning and twilight sessions), Saturdays and Sundays (mornings and afternoons). The club hosts several tournaments throughout the year, bowling "fun days" themed around holidays, various social events and a yearly Open House. SBLBC is also proud to be the practice facility for the SB Special Olympics bocce ball team.
Free lawn bowling lessons are available each month for those interested in learning about the sport. Private events may also be held at the club, equipment and volunteers are provided.
We are always looking for new members to join our drop in games and social events. Come learn more about this lawn bowls club with a social problem!
